CHENNAI: A woman and her twin children had a narrow escape after their two-wheeler got stuck on the railway track at Korukkupet level crossing here on Tuesday morning. Police said Swathy, 30, of Korukkupet was taking her twin daughters to school at 8.55am on her two-wheeler. She did not want to be late to reach school and used a gap at the closed gate to cross the track. While crossing, the two-wheeler got stuck on the tracks. Swathy abandoned the vehicle, gathered her children and escaped when she saw a fast approaching train. The train hit the two-wheeler and damaged it. The Railway Protection Force registered a case against Swathy for illegally crossing the level crossing and detained her at Tondiarpet RPF station.
